Our Privacy Policies

The Independent Craft Brewers of New Jersey are a forum run by a cooperative partnership of a number of New Jersey Craft Breweries.  Our mission is to promote and act in support of the growing New Jersey Craft Beer market – and empower people throughout the state who support our industry to have a voice in the future of the regulations and legislation that govern New Jersey Breweries.

This privacy policy outlines how we obtain information from you as a web site visitor, or other supporter, and what we do with it.  It also explains the choices you can make to control your privacy when you use our website at brewedindependent.org.

Who we share your data with

The Independent Craft Brewers of New Jersey may use your information for our legitimate business interests including providing a petition platform that allows us to transfer or forward your electronic “signature” to legislators and regulators associated with our industry.  We do not share with, market or sell data to marketing or non-industry third parties.

We may use and disclose your personal information as necessary or appropriate, especially when we have a legal obligation or legitimate interest to do so:

  • Fraud prevention: We may use and disclose the information we collect from and about our users as we believe necessary to investigate, prevent, or respond to suspected illegal or fraudulent activity or to protect the safety, privacy, rights, or property of us, our users, or others.
  • Law enforcement purposes: If requested or required by government authorities such as law enforcement authorities, courts, regulators, or otherwise to comply with the law (which may include laws outside your country of residence), we may have to disclose information we have about our users. We also may use and disclose information collected about you in order to exercise or protect legal rights or defend against legal claims.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
